Financial Reporting Analyst (Alternative Asset Manager)

Job Description:

A well-established and highly regarded alternative asset management firm in Midtown, New York, is looking to add a financial reporting professional to join their team! Responsibilities for this role include preparing financial statements, assisting with 10-K/Q filings, and validating SEC and GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience in a financial reporting role for either a large asset management or investment banking firm. Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong SOX controls environment and document accurate SOX filings
  • Prepare Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings, along with quarterly Earning Releases
  • Manage data control in the firm’s proprietary system, reporting software and GL
  • Track important deliverables, being able to work closely with other departments of the firm
  • Work heavily in Microsoft Excel, utilizing, Pivot Tables, V-lookups and SUMMIFs
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting projects as needed

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • A CPA is strongly preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience working at an asset management firm or financial institution
  • SEC reporting experience and strong GAAP compliance experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel in a professional setting – proficiency in Pivot Tables, V-lookups, SUMMIFS. Experience with VBA and Macros is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as this individual will be communicating with multiple divisions

Compensation:

  • $80,000 – $95,000
